Bernard-Albin GRAS designed a series of lamps, in 1921, for use in offices and in industrial environments. The Gras lamp was simple, robust and extremely ergonomic in design. No screws or welded joints are used in the basic form. In 1927 the Ravel Company purchased the patent and started production of the Gras lamps. More recently the original designs along with additional models have been put back into production by DCW Editions of Paris, France.
